Adoption Education

One of the pieces of our home study includes 10 hours of adoption education.  We chose to do an online package of education courses.  Our adoption agency includes that plus a few other items.  The courses are complete and we're just currently waiting on certificate approval - our proof that we completed the work.  One more check in the box....

I'm currently personally struggling with patience.  We are inching toward the point where we will have ZERO control over the speed with which this adoption will proceed.  Right now, some of the timeline depends on how quickly we complete the tasks assigned to us.  Once all of those pieces are in place, we are just waiting.  I checked in with our agency this weekend to see where things stand and she indicated that while there isn't much of a pattern on which to base the timeline (as Ugandan adoptions are still new to the agency), they are still anticipating completion in a year.

  1. You are doing a fantastic job with your blog. It sounds like you guys have been very busy, but at the end the reward will be great. I was wondering if Teagen will be calling his new sibling brown brother. :) I was thinking about how he called my kids his brown friends. ha,ha. Looking forward to following you in this new journey. Love ya, Luz

  2. Thanks, Luz.

@Brown brother....since my son has no filter, I wouldn't put it past him ;) When we discussed adopting from Uganda, we reminded him that his brother wouldn't look like him at all and Teagen asked us why that would matter.
