After a couple of excruciating delays the past few days, Nick and I finally signed the court affidavits to adopt LB. I'm thankful that Nick had a flexible(ish) schedule today and that we have a gracious secretary at my school that had her notary equipment at the ready for us. We had the paperwork on its way to South Carolina in around an hour and a half!
The paperwork is scheduled to arrive at the SC office by 10:30 tomorrow morning and from there it will be on its way to Uganda. This was the final thing we will sign before heading to Uganda for a court date.
What's next? We wait for word from our attorney that we've been filed in court and then we wait again to be assigned a court date. He said he would do his best to get us a date in late February.
Now we pray that the paperwork moves quickly and safety, that we are assigned a date with a favorable judge in a swift manner, and that we have a family of 4 home for spring break!
